The Most Surprising Trends from Fall 2016 Bridal Collection

Guest post written by: Suzy Walsh, House of Elegance Fashion Blogger

The fall bride is always experimental. She is the lady of substance and doesn’t mind toying with a few fun ideas. A lot has been written already about the probably fashion rules of 2017, but do you know the guiding bridal trends for fall 2017? This post is going to be just that- Your complete guide for the special and most likeable trends of the season. At the end of the day, style is all about how you experiment the fashion norms, and for the fall bride, we have some amazing surprises.

1_Pants for the lady

Pants for the lady: Well, even a few years back, pants were anything but an obvious choice for weddings. The contemporary bride surely wishes to differ. A lot of designers worked with pants for the fall 2017 collections, and what we have are amazing suits and more semi-formal looks, which work perfectly for the modern weddings. Add a tiara to the mix or opt for wide legged pants – the choices are many. You will find ideas worth stealing at Lela Rose, Theia, and Houghton.

2_Off the shoulder

Off the shoulder: Cold shoulders were a part of the regular fashion collections in 2015 and 2016, as well, and it wasn’t a surprise when bridal collections showed off the same style with a better modern approach. Vera Wang, Sachin & Babi, and Lela Rose were some of the big names that used the idea in varied ways. Shoulder-cut dresses and outfits can be really flattering if you are not fond of extreme experimental looks, like the deep plunging necklines. You can try to add a little drama by choosing colored gowns. Also, irrespective of the bride’s shape, these dresses would flatter one and all.

3_Pink me 2

Pink me: Pink is the most used and frequented color for fall 2017, and it surely worked big time. Colored bridal dresses were always considered to be experimental choices, but with pink, one is certainly more assured of the final look. You can try softer pinks or choose a completely bright shade – the choice is yours, and none of it would look over the top. Rita Viniries and Yolan Chris are two names one should check for the softer colors in pink, while there were some pretty pastel shades at Marchesa, as well. The fall bride should also take a look at Mark Zunino collection, which used floral motifs in pink for a dramatic appeal.

4_Long sleeves

Bonus trend- Long sleeves: Personally speaking, the whole idea of long sleeves for fall is quite tempting and practical at the same time. If you are wedding outdoors or in an area with chilly outdoors, this is one trend that you wouldn’t mind trying. You can check some ideas at designer shows of Monique Lhuillier and Elizabeth Fillmore among others.

Hope you found the post helpful! Keep it fun at your wedding!
